Water Purification

Acid Mine Drainage (AMD), a byproduct of historic and ongoing mining, poses a serious threat to freshwater resources. Yet, with the right technology, it can be transformed into a valuable source of industrial water—reducing reliance on raw water and supporting sustainable industry.

ProjectWay was appointed to lead the establishment of a pioneering pilot plant for AMD purification, designed to demonstrate this potential.

Our mandate required swift execution: enabling dual pilot plants with feed water and testing facilities, and coordinating infrastructure development. ProjectWay partnered with local suppliers to deliver essential services—laydown areas, feed and product water systems, power supply, and shelter—while managing engineering and procurement of specialized equipment from technology providers.

Following a rigorous three-month design phase, construction and commissioning were completed in four months, marking a milestone in turning environmental risk into industrial opportunity.
